Best Hotels & Boats in the Galapagos Islands

Your Galapagos Islands Questions Answered
I really want to see a particular species on my trip, can I ensure I do?
If you really want to see anything in particular, please let your consultant know. The islands are all very different and some wildlife is only found on certain islands. We will recommend the right itinerary for you once we have chatted with you about what you would like to see. In addition, some species are seasonal and are only in the Galapagos during certain months of the year
Can I explore the islands independently?
The Galapagos National Park strictly controls the number of visitors allowed into the area to protect the delicate ecosystem. The National Park Authorities requires anyone entering the national park to be accompanied by a licensed Naturalist Guide. All boat routes and day tours are controlled by the park authorities to ensure there are not too many people at any location at once. The National Park pre authorises all landings within the national park. Each boat has a set date they can land on a particular island.
What should I pack?
There are small shops on the main islands of San Cristobal and Santa Cruz but they are expensive and have limited choice, it is best to bring everything you need with you from home.
We recommend you pack walking shoes for the island excursions, flip flops for the boats, lots of sunscreen and a hat. This is quite an active destination, no fancy clothes required!
Is it a good honeymoon destination?
The Galapagos is not a typical honeymoon destination but for an adventurous couple who love wildlife and diving, it is perfect! There are some exceptionally luxurious yachts where you can enjoy incredible sunsets and visit idyllic beaches. You will usually visit two sites a day and there are ample opportunities to experience the islands by hiking, swimming or kayaking.
