Your Mediterranean getaway begins with arrival at Barcelona’s airport. You’ll be greeted by our driver with a warm welcome and provided with a private transfer to your hotel in the city, approximately 10 miles away. After checking in and getting settled, you might simply relax and enjoy the facilities or perhaps stretch your legs with a walk to Plaça de Catalunya. Located where the Old Town meets the modern city, this vast, beautiful square is right in the heart of the Catalan capital, surrounded by shops and cafes and filled with fountains and sculptures, while being ideal for people watching.
- DAY 2
Barcelona - Private Sagrada Familia & Tapas Tours
This morning, you’ll get an in-depth look at one of the most iconic symbols of Barcelona’s heritage, the Sagrada Familia Cathedral. Join our passionate expert on a private guided tour where you’ll learn all about it while marveling at the unique architecture combining Gothic and Art Nouveau, with towering spires and elaborate facades. Step inside and prepare to be wowed by the brilliant stained-glass windows where natural light flows through in an array of colors. This afternoon, a private tapas tour reveals some of the city’s tastiest flavors and top gastronomic and cultural landmarks, with tastings at a tavern and traditional bar included.
- DAY 3
Barcelona - Private Gothic Quarter Walking Tour
A private walking tour will take you through one of Barcelona’s most intriguing neighborhoods, the Gothic Quarter. The oldest in the city, it’s the historic center, and it’s especially atmospheric. Explore the enticing narrow streets for a trip back in time through over 2,000 years of history, stopping to see the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar and admiring the cathedral, city hall, and more in lively El Raval. Finally, head toward Port Olympic and the beach, concluding this excellent overview with expert insight into one of Barcelona’s most charming areas. Alternatively, wine enthusiasts can take an optional private, full-day winery tour.
- DAY 4
Valencia - Transfer from Barcelona by Rail
After checking out of your Barcelona hotel, our driver will provide a private transfer to Barcelona Sants Station. With first-class tickets in hand, catch the train for the roughly 3.5-hour ride to Valencia, renowned for its paella and historic architecture. Upon arrival, you’ll be provided with another private transfer to your Valencia hotel. Once you’ve checked in, the rest of the day is at your leisure. If you’d like to enjoy a preview of the city, Plaza de la Virgen is within a five- to 10-minute stroll and a pleasure to stroll around before unwinding with a drink while people watching.
- DAY 5
Valencia - Private Valencia Walking Tour & Silk Exchange + Cooking Class
Today, you’ll get to know Valencia on a private walking tour through Old Town Valencia that focuses on the Silk Exchange. Starting from the Town Hall, you’ll visit the Central Market with its modernist architecture and the imposing, nearly 800-year-old Valencia Cathedral. At the 15th-century Silk Exchange, you’ll embark on a historical adventure, learning about its past while exploring the main areas, including the Trading Hall and Courtyard of Orange Trees. Later, join a paella cooking class led by a local chef to learn how to prepare the city’s signature dish with a local chef as well as enjoy tapas and sangria.
- DAY 6
Valencia - Day of Leisure w/Optional Tour
We’ve reserved today to enjoy at your leisure so you can do what interests you most. Perhaps you’ll want to spend more time at the iconic Central Market or visit one of the modern attractions. The City of Arts and Sciences is an intriguing futuristic architectural and cultural complex with a science museum, aquarium, and more. Or discover marine life at Europe’s largest aquarium, the Oceanografic. For a day at the beach, Malvarrosa is ideal for relaxing and swimming. An optional private tour of Albufera and the countryside, featuring a large freshwater lagoon that’s a haven for many bird species, is possible too.
- DAY 7
Mallorca - Flight Transfer from Valencia
It’s time to travel to the final destination on this enchanting Mediterranean escape. Our driver will meet you upon checkout at your Valencia hotel to provide a private transfer to the city’s airport. You’ll catch a flight to Mallorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands and one of the Mediterranean’s most popular destinations. It’s famous for its idyllic sandy beaches framed by crystal-clear blue waters, rugged mountains, and charming villages. Upon arrival, you’ll take a private transfer to your Palma hotel where you can enjoy the rest of relaxing or doing a bit of exploring, with everything from historical landmarks to picturesque beaches.
- DAY 8
Mallorca - Private Walking Tour of Palma & Cathedral
Join our local guide for a tour departing from your hotel that explores the labyrinth of Palma’s streets, delving into its rich architectural heritage that includes a visit to the Gothic-style Palma Cathedral. Constructed atop the old city walls in the historic center, it dates all the way back to the early 13th century and contains many notable features, including the “Eye of the Gothic,” the world’s largest rose window, and ornate doors. You’ll see the cathedral’s impressive tower with its nine bells, including the massive N’Eloi, weighing nearly a thousand pounds and measuring over 6.5 feet in diameter.
- DAY 9
Mallorca - Day of Leisure/Optional Private Tour of Valldemossa & Royal Cartuja
Enjoy a day of leisure, perhaps spending time on a beautiful beach like Playa de Palma, Playa S’Arenal, or the more tranquil Can Pere Antoni, all relatively close to Palma’s city center. Playa de Palma is the largest and most developed, known for its long stretch of sand and shallow, translucent turquoise waters. Or, join an optional private tour of Valldemossa, one of the island’s most picturesque villages and its highest, with stone homes that make it look like a postcard. The tour includes the 14th-century Royal Caruja, a former royal residence converted into a monastery now serving as a museum.
