There are plenty of luxurious resorts in the remote regions, ideal for the outdoor adventurer seeking an upscale experience with magnificent views too. Many are all-inclusive, with excursions included. In most cities and towns throughout Chile, there are a broad range of accommodation options, including hostels, budget hotels, mid-range hotels, and luxury hotels that include some of the finest in South America like the Ritz and Explora groups, known for high-end indulgence. There’s been a new wave of lodge-style resorts focused on wellness with spas that might include a variety of hydrotherapy options, massages, and other indulgent treatments. Many of these feature tours and activities led by local experts, providing destination stays of their own.

For trips during the peak season of December through February, you’ll want to book well in advance as accommodation tends to sell out quickly, especially in popular remote destinations like San Pedro De Atacama and Patagonia. During Easter week and two weeks around mid-July many properties in the tourist regions consider these periods as part of the high season, which means you’ll need to book ahead and expect higher rates. During the off-season and shoulder seasons, generally from April through October, it’s possible to find discounts on room rates of as much as 50 percent.
