Originally from Toronto but now living in Italy, I’ve always been a traveler at heart. When I’m not planning your luxury European trip, you’ll find me hiking the Italian Alps or enjoying a lemon Spritz in Amalfi.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 Rome: Arrival into Rome

Rome, Italy

After landing at the airport in Rome, your private driver will meet you for transfer to your hotel. After checking in and getting refreshed, we recommend stretching your legs by wandering the maze of streets. Get re-energized by starting with a coffee like the Italians do, asking for “un caffe,” an espresso, and then perhaps head to Piazza Navona, one of Rome’s most picturesque and romantic squares with its Baroque buildings and Fountain of the Four Rivers. If you want to wish for true love, or for the opportunity to return to Rome, you’ll want to visit Trevi Fountain and toss a coin in.

Day 2 Rome: Vatican Tour

Italy, Vatican

This morning your private guide will bring you to the Vatican to see its world-famous sights with skip-the-line tickets. Vatican City is the world’s small country, a nation-state with a lot to see, including the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. There are 1,400 rooms and hallways holding over 3,000 years of art, including sculptures, frescoes, and tapestries. The most well-known are Michelangelo’s frescoes in the Sistine Chapel and the Raphael Rooms. This afternoon, we recommend visiting the Roman Colosseum, one of the most recognisable landmarks in the world, built between 72 AD and 80 AD. Afterwards you might delve into the lively nightlife.

Day 3 Rome: Culinary Excursion

Trastevere Rome, Italy

Rome is world-famous for its delicious cuisine and today you’ll meet your private guide for a tour of some of the best in some of the city’s more off-the-beaten path gems in medieval Trastevere. Stroll the charming cobbled streets and alleyways of one of the most attractive neighbourhoods in Rome visiting food stores, talking with some of the local families who are working hard to preserve Roman food traditions and, of course, sampling the mouthwatering eats too. Enjoy time on your own this afternoon to explore on your last full day here, perhaps visiting the landscaped garden of Villa Borghese or shopping for souvenirs.

Day 4 Florence: Masterpiece Tour

Florence, Italy

It’s time to say goodbye to Rome with private transfer bringing you to Roma station to catch the fast train for the less than two-hour ride to Florence. Upon your arrival, private transfer will bring you to your hotel – after checking in a private guide will take you on a tour of some of the city’s most iconic masterpieces. Visit the Accademia Gallery where you’ll see the famous, over 13-foot-tall marble statue of David along with many works by Michelangelo. Marvel at Florence’s most impressive cathedral, the Duomo, a massive Gothic building a spectacular Renaissance dome, the Palazzo Pitti, Piazza della Signoria, and more.

Day 5 Florence: Artisan Cooking Class

Italy, authentic pizza

Your guide will take you on a unique tour that will allow you to bring home some of the most useful souvenirs, skills you can show off to your friends and family back home. Head to the Oltrarno area across the river, the most authentic side of Florence, where you’ll see many historic workshops and handcrafted items. Visit the mosaic and paper workshops to learn how the artisans make their incredible products and then take three different lessons, a gelato cooking class, marble paper lab and a painting workshop before ending the day in the heart of the city with a pizza cooking class.

Day 6 Venice: Architecture, Art and Gondola Tour

Burano island, Italy

Continuing to Venice today, you’ll reach the Floating City by private transfer. After getting settled into your hotel at the heart of it all, your private guide will bring you to see the amazing artistic patrimonies and magnificent Venetian architecture. Take time on your own to enjoy the famous sites in Piazza San Marco like St. Mark’s Basilica which has managed to stand the test of time, built back in 1092 AD, the Torre dell’Orologio and Doge’s Palace which looks out onto the Grand Canal. Later in the afternoon you’ll embark on a true bucket-list experience: a gondola ride along the picturesque canals.

Day 7 Venice: Private Burano and Murano Islands Tour

Burano island, Italy

This morning you’ll escape the busier side of Venice to take a private tour of the more tranquil artisan islands of Burano and Murano. The colourful islands are famous for their crafts, produced by highly skilled local artisans, as well as their vibrantly painted buildings. Head out on a private boat with your own personal guide to discover the gorgeous lace fabric in Burano and the stunning works of glass in Murano the island is so renowned for. As this is your last full day here, after returning to Venice savour those last moments with a meal in an authentic eatery.

Day 8 Departure Day

Italy, Venice

After your week discovering Italy’s highlights, your journey has come to an end. Fuel up with that tasty Italian coffee and a pastry before taking private transfer from your hotel to the airport.
