Paris and Champagne

Welcome to Paris. Your private driver will be there to welcome you upon arrival to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, or Gare du Nord for those arriving by Eurostar. Private transfers will be provided to your elegant boutique hotel in the historic Saint-Germain neighborhood. It’s surrounded by cafes and restaurants just steps from the popular Rue de Rennes shopping district. After checking into your hotel, you’ll have the remainder of the day at your leisure. Once you’ve taken time to settle in and refresh, you might enjoy a stroll to soak up the enchanting atmosphere of the city, perhaps enjoying a bit of shopping before sitting down for a drink or a delicious meal.

Today you’ll get to explore Paris in depth with your own private guide on a four-hour tour of its many highlights. As Paris is a large city, we’ve included a metro card allowing you to see more of the city in less time. It’s also much quicker than traveling by car. As this is a tour just for you, it can be personalized so that you can see what interests you most, but some of the must-see landmarks include the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Montmartre neighborhood. If you visit Sacre Coeur, you can take in a fabulous view overlooking the Louvre and much of the city. Your guide will provide insight along the way and can also offer tips and suggestions for restaurants, shops, attractions, and more. The afternoon is free to enjoy at your leisure.

This morning you are free to enjoy Paris at your leisure before your private transfer to the Champagne Region, approximately 90 minutes from the French capital. This is a great time to explore Saint-Germain a little more, maybe visit one of the local markets, or just relax with a coffee in one of the many pavement cafes. Afternoon lunch you will transfer to the hotel in rural Champagne, close to the ancient city of Reims. This is a truly stunning part of France, with gently rolling hills and forests which help to create the perfect climate for cultivating grapes. On arrival, there is time to sit back at the hotel with a glass of champagne, or you may chose to relax in the hotel’s expensive spa. 

After a relaxing breakfast enjoy a luxurious Champagne tasting day trip, where indulgence and elegance combine for an unforgettable experience. With private transportation and a knowledgeable guide, you’ll be whisked away to the heart of Champagne country.

Begin your journey with a prestigious Champagne cellar tour where you’ll discover the secrets behind their world-renowned bubbly. Following the tour, delight your taste buds with a guided tasting of two exquisite Champagnes from their range. Continuing your exploration with a private visit and tasting at a premium boutique champagne producer, where you’ll have the opportunity to savor unique and artisanal blends. Along the way, soak in the region’s charm as you visit UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the picturesque Champagne Scenic Road, the iconic Avenue de Champagne in Epernay, and the historic village of Hautvillers, known as the birthplace of Dom Pérignon.

To complete the day a three-course lunch in either Reims or Epernay, offering a delightful local cuisine, excluding drinks.

The historic city of Reims is the region’s commercial center and has been a major city since Roman times. It’s famous for its cathedral which was the venue of the coronation of the French kings. You will be picked up from the hotel to enjoy a private 2-hour walking tour of the historic center with stunning examples of Gothic architecture. You’ll also find many headquarters of big name wineries here which are well worth a visit. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city at you leisure, or you can chose to return to the hotel. 

Return to Paris late afternoon. 

After exploring the classic sights in Paris and enjoying the beautiful and historic Champagne Region, your trip comes to an end. At check out, your private driver will pick you up at your hotel for transfer back to the airport or train station.
