Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 Denpasar, Bali: Arrival into Denpasar Airport

Ubud in Bali

Welcome to Bali. You’ll be greeted by your friendly private driver/guide who will assist you with your luggage, transferring you to Ubud in a comfortable private vehicle and answer any questions you might have about your trip. Ubud, the cultural heart of Bali, is about a 40-minute drive from the airport in Denpasar, surrounded by vibrant green ride fields. It’s home to the Sacred Monkey Forest, a nature reserve where you can walk among countless Balinese long-tailed monkeys. After checking into your accommodation, get settled in and then perhaps enjoy a stroll along Ubud’s Main Street with its cafes and colourful shops.

Day 2 Ubud: Early morning walking tour

Enjoy an early morning walking tour through Ubud, under the tranquil golden light of dawn, watching a sunrise and strolling through the Ubud Market, the village lanes, forest and fields. Visit a farmer’s hut, high up in the rice fields for a picnic and then look forward to a fabulous foot massage. As jet lag is often an issue after that long-haul flight, you’ll be able to enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. We advise taking the time to rest and relax for the busy days ahead, perhaps enjoying the pool followed by dinner at your accommodation.

Day 3 Ubud: Full day tour of Ubud’s art and shopping scene

A full-day guided tour awaits this morning, starting with a visit to Tohpati. Your expert guide will show you where to find its famous Batik fabrics and you’ll have time to explore some of the artisan markets and high-quality boutiques in Ubud. Continue to Celuk, a center for exceptional silver works, followed by Mas which is known for its exquisite woodcarvings. Explore the thriving Ubud art scene by visiting the Agung Rai Museum of Art which showcases classic and contemporary works by Balinese, national and international artists. Afterwards, visit Ubud Market to shop and test your bargaining skills, concluding at Puri Saren Agung temple.

Day 4 Ubud: Full day East Bali tour

Explore the rarely visited East Bali region with your private driver/guide, home to some of the most spectacular traditional temples and rice terraces in the Indonesian islands. The first stop is near Tampaksiring to visit the Hindu-Balinese Tirta Empul water temple. You’ll venture to the tranquil Tirtagangga water palace, and then stroll through the traditional village of Tengana, home to the indigenous Bali Aga people, known for their double-ikat cloth weaving. Next, journey to Klungkung’s Goa Lawah temple, often called the “Bat Cave,” with its thousands of bats. Finally, marvel at the spectacular murals at Bali Heritage Royal Court before returning to your hotel.

Day 5 Seminyak: Transfer to Seminyak with temple visits along the way

Private transfer will bring you from Ubud to Seminyak after checking out of your hotel. While it’s just an hour’s drive to this beach resort area on the west coast of Bali’s southern region, you’ll have a number of remarkable sights to explore along the way. Enjoy the panoramic views on your way toward Mount Batukaru and then see the endless rice fields of Jatiluwih. You’ll have time to soak up the breathtaking vista while learning about the Balinese farmers’ traditional methods of crop irrigation. Visit the 1634 Royal Temple of Mengwi, surrounded by a moat, and then check into your Seminyak hotel.

Day 6 Seminyak: Sunset excursion to Uluwatu Temple

Enjoy a leisurely morning with most of the day to yourself. This evening you’ll enjoy a sunset excursion to Uluwatu Temple which sits stop dramatically steep cliffs that plunge straight down to the crashing waves below. Watch the sun dip below the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean and then catch an authentic Kecak fire dance performance. Enjoy a delicious special dinner at nearby Nusa Dua before returning to your hotel. During the day, you can relax and take advantage of the facilities at your accommodation, enjoy the beaches, and perhaps indulge in upscale beach-side dining at famous Ku De Ta.

Day 7 Seminyak: Day of leisure

A day of leisure to enjoy as you’d like, we suggest unwinding and relaxing at your beach-side resort. You might want to spend time swimming in the pool or sipping cocktails at poolside, or lounging at the beach, dipping your toes in the water in between sunbathing sessions. If you want to enjoy a stroll, the stretch of sand along the coast leads to Seminyak, Double Six, Legian and as far as Kuta, about 3.2 miles south. After enjoying one of Bali’s glorious sunsets, enjoy the evening air with a mouthwatering dinner under the stars at your hotel.

Day 8 Seminyak: Cruise to Nusa Lembongan

This morning you’ll enjoy an exciting full day cruise on an 85-foot-long catamaran. Sail across the Badung strait to Nusa Lembongan, enjoying all sorts of activities while surrounded by the magnificent scenery. You can go snorkelling to experience the spectacular underwater world, embark on a village tour or a banana boat adventure, fuelling the fun with an island-base buffet lunch, drinks included. A glass-bottom boat ride and a visit to the Bali Hai Beach Club for swimming in the crystal-clear blue waters of Mushroom Bay or the property’s freshwater lagoon pool are all on the agenda too.

Day 9 Denpasar: Departure day

Your 8-nights tour through Bali comes to an end today, but if you aren’t ready to return home yet, Indonesia is home to thousands of other islands, many within easy reach of Bali making it easy to extend your trip. Our travel experts will be happy to create an addition to your itinerary based on your personal preferences. Otherwise, after checking out of your Seminyak hotel, take private transfer back to Denpasar Airport for your journey home.
