Our Luxury Tours of Peru
Peru is one of the most popular tourist destinations in South America. There is something for everyone in Peru, it has an incredible combination of ancient history, wildlife, spectacular landscapes and cities to enjoy.
No trip to Peru is complete without a visit to Machu Picchu, one of the new seven wonders of the world and a bucket list destination. There are not many places on earth you can explore an ancient town that is so well preserved. The city of Cusco is the old capital of the Incan Empire and the start point for travellers going to Machu Picchu. We recommend you spend some time in Cusco and the surrounding area as it is littered with Incan ruins and history.
For people with more time, there are so many wonderful destinations to add to your itinerary. The wildlife and jungle of the Amazon is accessible by boat and perfect for adventurous travellers. A trip to Lake Titicaca allows you to meet the incredible Uros people who live on reed islands on the lake. For people who enjoy the buzz of a city, the Peruvian cities have a flourishing foodie culture and the main squares are the perfect place to relax while people watching and taking in the colonial Spanish architecture.
There is no shortage of experiences that can be added to your trip, some suggestions include join a local guide for your city tours, learn to cook Peruvian food at cooking class, join a naturalist guide on a walk through the Amazon Rainforest or take a helicopter flight over the Sacred Valley.
Talk to the Expert
My love for South America started when I was living in Lima, Peru, and family and friends came to visit. That year I went to Machu Picchu 5 times! I do not have one drop of Latin blood in me, which is painfully obvious if you see me dance, and yet without realizing it for the past 15 years South America has been my home.

Are there luxury hotels in Peru?
Peru has a wide range of five-star hotels including several properties that are Relais & Chateaux accredited. Many of the luxury properties are former historic palaces and mansions that have been renovated to retain their original character and add all the amenities of a premium hotel. The hotels also have world-class spas and incredible tasting menus for you to indulge in.
Is Peru a good family destination?
Most people travel to Peru for its history, most notably Machu Picchu. Very small children may wonder what all the fuss is about but for older children who can understand the history, Peru is amazing. They can be transported back in time to the Inca Emperors and Spanish conquistadors, history will come alive for them as they walk the streets of Machu Picchu. Peruvians are very warm and welcoming and generally enjoy the company of children. Tours can be amended to accommodate the needs of a family very easily.
When is the best time to visit the Amazon Rainforest?
The Amazon has two seasons, the dry season which is May – October and the rainy season November – April. Dry is a relative term in a rainforest, the dry season just has less rain! Water levels on the Amazon River tend to peak around May at the end of the rains.
High water levels mean you can kayak and explore more on the water and you are closer to the wildlife in the forest canopy. The downside to high water levels is that there are fewer hiking options. During the rainy season, there are also more mosquitos around. May-August are a good time to travel as they offer the best of both worlds, water levels are high enough for boats and the weather is dry.
