Ol Donyo Lodge Overview
This 6-suite lodge is the height of luxury in the Chyulu Hills of Kenya. Over 360,000 years ago, this area of Chyulu Hills was originally formed by the ancient lava that spewed out of Kilimanjaro. What is so special about this area is that it is land owned by the Maasai people, and as Ol Donyo Lodge has worked with the community over the years, they have formed strong relationships and bonds with the Maasai people. The main area is spacious and beautifully designed but what draws you in is the panoramic view across the expansive plains. When Ol Donyo was being designed, it was essential for the room windows to show “the soul of East Africa”. The 6 suites definitely encapsulate this, with a fusion of stylish-rustic design, use of glass, and indoor/outdoor living. One of the suites offer a sleep out experience which is where you can enjoy a night under a single mosquito net, listening to lions and hyena in the distance.
