Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi

Kenya Elephants

On arrival into Nairobi you will be met and transferred to your hotel to rest after your flight. This afternoon we would suggest you take a trip to the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and the Giraffe Centre. At the elephant orphanage you can watch the elephants have a milk feed and a mud bath. The keepers will give a talk about the work they do and the stories of the different orphans in their care. At the Giraffe Centre you can feed the giraffes and learn more about them. Overnight in the House of Waine hotel and enjoy the beautiful gardens and grounds.

    Day 2 Laikipia Plateau

    El Karama Room

    This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to the Laikpia Conservancy. Mount Kenya overlooks this stunning reserve and the area is home to the endangered Black Rhino. You will be staying at the family friendly El Karama Eco Lodge. This family run a working cattle ranch and wildlife sanctuary which offers a wide range of family activities. They offer safari drives, safari walks and night drives in the wildlife dense reserve.

      Day 3 Laikipia Plateau

      The lodge run a ‘Bush School’ offering kids the chance to spend time with the rangers and learn about the wildlife, track animals and bush craft. The aim of the school is to help children re connect with nature. They also offer trips to local schools, fishing and cooking lessons.

        The lodge is part of a working ranch and you can spend time with the herdsman and cattle and see how the ranch works. You may choose to head out on a morning game drive and then relax in the pool during the afternoon. You can choose to do as much or as little as you would like.

          Day 5 Borana Wildlife Conservancy

          Borana Lodge

          Today you will be transferred to the Borana Wildlife Conservancy. One of the rock formations within Borana’s conservancy is where Disney found the inspiration for Pride Rock in the Lion King. Borana offer a huge range of activities, walks in the bush, horse riding through the conservancy, mountain biking and game drives.

            Day 6 Borana Wildlife Conservancy

            At Borana, they offer kids activity packs to keep them engaged during game drives and to help them learn about the wildlife they are viewing. Walks around the lodge grounds can be arranged for children, while parents enjoy some down time. Children are taught about the birds and plants as well as the smaller creatures which live around the lodge

              Day 7 Masai Mara National Park

              Masai Tribe

              Today you will be transferred to the Masai Mara, one of the most iconic wildlife destinations in Africa. You will stay in a family friendly lodge with a pool and rangers who cater for the needs of children on safari. There is also the opportunity to meet the local Maasai Tribes, learn about their lives and for kids to throw spears and jump like a true Maasai!

                Day 8 Masai Mara National Park

                Morning and afternoon game drives into the reserve offer your family the chance to see amazing wildlife and if you are there at the right time of year, the annual migration. The migration of two million wildebeest, zebra and antelope into the Mara is an unforgettable experience.

                  Day 9 Diani Beach

                  We think that the perfect family trip to Kenya ends with some time on a beach. Today your guide will transfer you to the airport for your flight to the Kenyan Coast. Diani Beach is on the southern coast of Kenya and is famous for it’s white sand beaches and the warm Indian Ocean. It offers a wide range of activities for all ages, there is a marine national park, diving, snorkelling and water sports.

                    Today you can take a Dhow Boat out to look for dolphins and turtles or you may want to go on a snorkeling trip. A Dhow is the traditional sailing boat that Arab and Indian merchants used to explore East Africa. Now these boats are a fantastic way to explore the waters off the coast of Kenya.

                      Day 11 Diani Beach

                      Colobus Monkey Kenya

                      If you are looking for some land based activities you can book on a guided walk through sacred forests, a visit to a monkey sanctuary and a trip to a turtle information center. The Colobus monkey sanctuary is a local charity devoted to protecting this endangered species. They have a guided walk where you can see the work they do and watch the monkeys play.

                        Day 12 Diani Beach

                        Today you may just want to relax or try something more energetic. There is the option to try stand up paddle boarding, the ocean conditions on Diani are perfect to try this sport out. You can also kayak and if the weather conditions are good, try kite surfing.

                         

                         

                          Day 13 Depart

                          This morning, after breakfast, you will check out and your driver will transfer you to the airport. You will then fly back to Nairobi for your onward flight connections.
