Ionian Jewels Small Ship Cruise

Welcome to Greece! Your enchanting cruise begins from the port of Lavrio, arguably the prettiest of the three ports near Athens at the tip of the Attica peninsula. Check-in is between 3 and 4 pm with a refreshing welcome drink provided to help you settle in for our departure. We’ll cross the Corinth Canal as we make our way to the port of Itea, a gateway to ancient Delphi. This evening, enjoy the welcome dinner onboard, a delicious feast that includes introductions to your captain and the crew, with time to get to meet and mingle with your fellow passengers.

We’ll arrive early to Itea and from there, visit sacred Delphi on the slopes of Mount Parnassos. One of the most important archaeological sites in Greece, it was revered by the ancient Greeks as the center of the world. It is a stunning spectacle of ancient ruins and natural beauty, including the Temple of Apollo, the Athenian Treasury, and a theater that once hosted the ancient Pythian Games. After exploring the UNESCO-listed site, return to the ship where you might unwind with a drink followed by an alfresco dinner under the stars. We’ll soon set sail for our next destination, Zakynthos, with the night spent at sea.

Wake up to an incredible view of Shipwreck Beach with its pristine white sands edged by electric blue waters. They’re so enticing, you might even want to leap off the ship for a swim. If you prefer to stay on land, we can bring you ashore to get a closer look at the shipwreck that gave it its name. Our next stop is lush Kefalonia, renowned for its beach that appeared in Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.” You’ll have time to enjoy a swim here or visit the spectacular caves nearby. We’ll overnight in the brilliant turquoise waters of Fiskardo Bay, lined with pastel-painted neoclassical homes.

Early this morning a quick sail brings us to the mythical island of Odysseus. We’ll pull into Vathy Port where you’ll see homes with their red-tiled roofs spilling down the hillside. Explore on your own or take a tour, with two options – a visit to a tranquil monastery high in the mountains providing breathtaking views or to the Archaeological Collection of Stavros. This afternoon, we’ll continue cruising with a swim stop off the shores of one of the many idyllic beaches, a great time to use the snorkeling gear or glass bottom kayaks on board. Dinner will be served on the ship with the night spent at sea.

Your view this morning upon awakening will be of postcard-perfect Antipaxos island. The day will mostly be spent swimming and snorkeling the stunning blue waters that lie between Antipaxos and Paxos, both of which have striking white cliffs, idyllic little coves, and unspoiled white sandy beaches. A visit will be made to marvel at the renowned Blue Caves too and this afternoon you’ll have time to wander around the charming port of Gaios in Paxos. Departing early for Parga, upon our arrival you’ll see an enchanting vision of colorful homes and buildings built amphitheatrically on the slopes of a mountain. It boasts some of the most spectacular Ionian beaches and it’s also home to the Acheron River, one of the five rivers leading to the Underworld in Greek mythology. An optional guided tour can bring you to the river where you can take advantage of activities like kayaking, rafting, hiking, or even horseback riding. Returning to your ship this afternoon as we’ll depart for Syvota, enjoying an unforgettable swim stop at the surreal Blue Lagoon Bay along the way.

Our last full day brings us to Corfu one of the greenest islands in Greece, with a unique character that results from a blend of Venetian, English, and French influences. Jam-packed with culture, history, mythology, and stunning natural beauty, upon our arrival you might explore its many delights on your own such as Old Town Corfu, one of the most romantic and charming places in the country with fine examples of Byzantine and Venetian art and architecture. Or join a tour, with both gastronomic and cultural options available. Our farewell Greek night dinner with fun live entertainment will be hosted on board this evening.

After a week of discovering many Ionian jewels, it’s time for your trip to come to an end. You’ll have time for one last breakfast onboard and to say your goodbyes to fellow passengers who are likely now new friends. Disembarkation is by 10 am with a private transfer waiting to bring you to Corfu’s airport or your onward hotel if you’ll be spending more time here.
