Inverlochy Castle Overview
Inverlochy Castle sits at the foot of Ben Nevis just outside the Highland town of Fort William. In 1873, Queen Victoria once remarked that she “never saw a lovelier or more romantic spot” than the castle’s setting and it’s just as impressive today. Activity options are numerous with everything from mountain biking and hill walking to fishing, archery, wildlife photography tours, and off-road trips available. Or simply row around the picturesque loch, warming up afterward by the drawing-room fire or with a whisky in the billiard room. Don’t worry if your boots got wet or muddy, there’s a valet to dry them. Dinner is served in the Great Hall and includes a five-course menu with Highland accents that can be paired with sommelier-chosen wines. Light lunches and afternoon tea are available too. Rooms are traditionally designed and unique, but all feature modern essentials and fabulous views of the surrounding grounds and mountains.
