Hotel Bambu Overview
This intimate luxury boutique hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Sangker River and about 15 minutes on foot from the center of town, or an even shorter tuk tuk ride. The leafy property is eco-conscious, with solar panels providing the majority of power. Thoughtful landscaping ensures plenty of privacy, with most of the 16 rooms in traditionally inspired wooden villas, complete with exposed roof beams and wooden shutters. All have terraces or balconies for unwinding among the greenery, along with flat-screen TVs and DVD players (DVDs can be rented for just $1, with profits going toward the English program at the local village school ), minibars, iPod docks, free Wi-Fi and safes. There is a beautiful outdoor saltwater pool with a sundeck and loungers, complete with straw hats for those who forgot to bring their own. The restaurant serves tasty Asian fusion dishes, while the bar offers an excellent pre-dinner happy hour.
