When to Visit Costa Rica

There is no bad time to visit Costa Rica, although there are two different seasons to consider, the dry, which runs from December through April, and the green, from May through November. Along the Caribbean coast, it’s typically humid, hot, and rainy year-round, with a short break in September and October. The drier season is the peak tourist season, but many prefer to be here during the wetter season as you can enjoy sunny mornings that are ideal for excursions with afternoon rain showers ideal for rejuvenating. The crowds are fewer, the wildlife more active, and you might find discounted accommodation rates too.

What is the best honeymoon destination in Costa Rica?

The best destination depends on what you hope to get out of your honeymoon. Manuel Antonio National Park offers an extensive network of beach and jungle trails for viewing exotic wildlife along with tranquil crescents of white sands. The Oso Peninsula is another popular pick, located in one of the world’s most unspoiled areas with breath-taking ocean views, virgin rainforest, and unbeatable wildlife watching. Papagayo Peninsula boasts over 30 beaches, many adventure tours, and several outstanding luxury resorts, while Rincon de la Vieja is home to Costa Rica’s most active volcano and a geothermal landscape with boiling mud pots and natural volcanic hot springs.

Where should I stay on my honeymoon in Costa Rica?

You’ll have a wide range of options when it comes to honeymoon accommodation in Costa Rica. There are stand-alone villas that provide the ultimate in privacy along with all the comforts of home in magnificent, lush settings, along with many luxury resorts, some of which are all-inclusive and sit at the edge of pristine white sands. Eco-lodges have become popular too, ideal for nature lovers who want to be close to nature and wildlife, enjoy thrilling adventures, and often delicious organic eats.

What are the essential things to do on a honeymoon in Costa Rica?

There are a ton of things to do in Costa Rica, but some of the most essential for honeymooners include soaking in natural hot springs with mineral-rich pools that come thanks to Arenal Volcano. Several resorts and hotels offer them right on-site. Of course, you’ll also want to spend time on the country’s beautiful beaches, enjoying everything from pleasant strolls to surfing and sunset watching, with some of the best found in Guanacaste. Swim in a tranquil pool beneath a waterfall and be sure to take a tour through the rainforest to spot rare wildlife.
