The Grand Overview

The Grand is a sophisticated Edwardian hotel in a historic 1906 building that overlooks York’s ancient city walls just a 3-minute walk from the York train station. Once home to the British Rail offices, many of the building’s original features are still visible, like the crown molding and ornate woodwork. It hosts a magnificent spa that includes a heated indoor pool, hot tub, steam room, sauna, and a well-equipped fitness center. There’s a cozy whisky lounge featuring more than 125 different varieties, including single malts and rare blends. Enjoy drinks and light bites on the outdoor terrace on a pleasant day or enjoy a tasty British meal in the elegant dining room. Afternoon tea is available too. The lavish rooms are all individually decorated with features like velvet drapes and comfortable beds with Egyptian cotton linens, robes and slippers, mini-fridges, flat-screen satellite TVs, free Wi-Fi, and huge bathrooms with deep-soaking tubs.
