Gal Oya Lodge Overview
Gal Oya National Park remains peacefully, untouched by the hand of man. It is one of Sri Lanka’s hidden gems, yet to be explored. Situated on a 20-acre private estate within the heart of the Park is Gal Oya Lodge, a unique, low-impact ecolodge offering the best nature-led accommodation in Sri Lanka. Each of the nine spacious bungalows has been created in harmony with the natural features of the landscape, including large beds, outdoor bathrooms, a private living area with floor to ceiling windows, and a garden veranda. The diverse wildlife of the Park is best seen on a boat safari – particularly the iconic swimming elephants. Other activities include jeep safaris, a range of hikes, walks with the Lodge’s Vedda neighbours, research and conservation activities, and Sri Lankan cooking classes.
