Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 Paris: Arrival into Paris, France

Paris, France

Begin your 11-nights luxurious adventure through France in the City of Lights. After your plane lands in Paris, you’ll be welcomed by your private driver and taken to your hotel. Drop off your bags and hit the streets – walking is a great way to bust jet lag, and the perfect opportunity to soak up this atmospheric city. Walk alongside the River Seine, stopping at one of the enticing cafes to enjoy a croissant and café au lait while watching the world go by. This is a good area to pick up souvenirs, with a number of shops and vendors along the way.

Day 2 City Tour in a Classic Vintage Car

Paris, France

After a sumptuous Parisian breakfast, tour the city in a classic vintage car, discovering riverside esplanades and iconic monuments. Check out the artsy Montmartre neighbourhood and lesser-known places like Arènes de Lutèce, one of the most important ancient Roman remains from the era in Paris. Enjoy lunch followed by a private walking tour will bring you many great sights like the Notre Dame Cathedral and Sainte Chapel, wandering through Le Marais district to visit Place des Vosges, the city’s oldest square. From the top of the Eiffel Tower, gaze out at a panoramic view of the city, concluding with a cruise along the Seine.

Day 3 Paris: Le Marais Neighborhood Food Tour

Enjoying art and sipping coffee with a delectable pastry is synonymous with French culture. Experience it with your local guide in Le Marais, a resident of the neighbourhood who will reveal the best cafes the locals go to while tasting some of the city’s best baked goods alongside espresso and chocolates. Visit Marché des Enfants Rouges, Paris’ oldest food market and haggle for your favourite item. This afternoon, a skip-the-line ticket to the world’s largest art museum, the Louvre, will allow you to go right to the classics like Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo and your own favourite works. Afterwards, enjoy Tuileries Garden.

Day 4 Marseille: Art & History Tour

Continue your food and art journey by boarding fist class, the French fast train (TGV) to Marseille. Get settled into your accommodation and then head out to explore on your own. The oldest city in France, Marseille’s foundations were built by the ancient Greeks around 600 B.C. Wander through the Le Panier district where the city was birthed to marvel t the medieval plazas, ancient churches and colourful facades. Don’t miss the Roman monastic foundation of Saint-Victor Abbey or the hilltop basilica, Notre-Dame de la Garde. You might explore the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations too, concluding in Vieux-Port with a sunset cocktail.

Day 5 Marseille: Private Boat Trip & Photography Tour

France, Marseille

A private boat excursion will bring you to discover the hidden treasures of Marseille. Head to the port to sail to your first stop, the Frioul Islands archipelago. This is one of the city’s neighbourhoods, which includes four islands and an ancient castle. Cruising on, visit the rocky inlets of Mlmousque where you’ll enjoy time to swim in the sparkling turquoise water. The boat’s last stop is Vallon des Auffes, an ancient fishing port that sits beneath a bridge, with secluded coves, perfect for another refreshing dip. Upon your return, enjoy a photography tour with a local photography guide through Marseille’s captivating streets.

Day 6 Aix-en-Provence: Guided Walking Tour

Aix-en-Provence, France

This morning you’ll travel to your next destination, Aix-en-Provence, just a 30-minute drive south. A two-hour guided walking tour will reveal the city’s rich culture, heritage, and art found along the narrow streets, passing historic squares and churches as your guide tells you about the most popular sights and hidden gems. Marvel at the 14th-century town hall and Romanesque/Gothic Saint-Sauveur Cathedral, take a stroll along the leafy Cours Mirabeau, lined with markets, cafes and Roman ruins. You’ll have the rest of the day to enjoy on your own, perhaps relaxing in a spa, shopping the boutiques or the Provencal food market.

Day 7 Aix-en-Provence: Avignon Guided Walking Tour + Hilltop Villages Excursion

France, Avignon

Travel to medieval Avignon to enjoy a guided walking tour, visiting multiple UNESCO World Heritage Sites like the Le Palais des Popes, Pont Saint-Benezet bridge, Avignon Cathedral, Saint Pierre Basilica, the main square and Doms Garden. From there you’ll travel to the surrounding Luberon region with its spectacular hilltop villages, orchards, and vineyards. Visit l’Isle Sur la Sorgue village characterized by historic waterwheels along the Sorgue River, a perfect spot for lunch. After dining continue to Gordes, the region’s most enchanting hilltop village, complete with a fortified castles and cobbled streets from which you’ll enjoy gorgeous views of the surrounding hills and valley.

Day 8 Aix-en-Provence: Provencal Cooking Class

A cooking class provides one of the best souvenirs of your trip, the opportunity to cook Provencal dishes back home. Pick up your new skills here in this postcard-perfect region by following your guide to the food markets in Aix-en-Provence’s Old Town. You’ll meet local producers and pick up fresh items produced in the area like honey, truffles and olive oil. Next, visit a chateau to purchase some wine before bringing it all to your host’s home. You’ll pick wild aromatic herbs growing on the property before helping to prepare the meal and sitting down to enjoy it.

Day 9 Nice: Wine Estate, Villecroze and Waterfall Tour

Your final destination today is Nice, but along the way you’ll travel through the rural roads of Provence to the Mediterranean coast on a scenic driving tour, surrounded by the French Riviera’s breathtaking landscapes. Your first stop will be Berne Castle, home to one of the most picturesque vineyards along the Riviera, renowned for producing highly acclaimed wines. Enjoy a wine tasting followed by lunch in the countryside and then continue to Villecroze, a unique village surrounded by nature with troglodyte caves at the base of the Provençal Alps. Next, visit a 140-foot-tall waterfall in Sillans-la-Cascade before ending the day with dinner in Nice.

Day 10 Nice: Cooking Class and Perfume Tour

France, Nice

A cooking class begins at the famous Liberation Market. Shop for fresh regional products with your guide who will introduce you to shop owners who will welcome you like a local. Continue to an apartment, discussing traditional recipes and cooking methods with the chef before helping to prepare a three-course meal and sitting down to enjoy it with a glass of Rose. A perfume tour begins with a presentation by a Chanel brand expert followed by a visit to the perfume museum. Head to a flower market searching for raw materials the perfumes were comprised of, then choose an essential oil to bring home.

Day 11 Nice: Private Tour of Monte Carlo, Monaco and Eze

Enjoy an exciting private day tour starting in Monaco, the world’s second smallest country, viewing Prince Rainier’s car collection and the legendary Monte Carlo casino. Explore the Rock of Monaco in the medieval Old Town, the most historic area, and take in spectacular views of the coast while learning about the community and its history from your guide. Continue to medieval Eze, a village set high above the Mediterranean, making it popular among artists. Explore its oldest monument, Chapelle Saint-Croix, built in 1306, and visit the ruins of the ancient castle, concluding with a stroll through the village’s tranquil gardens.

Day 12 Departure

France, Nice

After enjoying your fill of delectable French cuisine and wine, historic treasures, castles, and world-renowned art, your 11-night journey comes to an end. Your private driver will meet you at your accommodation after breakfast for transfer to the airport where you can catch your flight home or head out on further travels.
