Day by Day Itinerary
- DAY 1
Rome: Arrival into Rome
Upon arrival to the airport in Rome, your private driver will welcome you to Italy and transfer you to your accommodation in the heart of the city. Get settled in and refreshed before enjoying the afternoon at leisure to explore some of Rome’s epic sights at your leisure. The Trevi Fountain, delicious pasta and more await!
- DAY 2
Rome: Private Guided Tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum
A private guided visit will bring you to Rome’s most recognized symbol, the Roman Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Inaugurated in the 1st-century AD, the Colosseum sat over 50,000 spectators who came to watch the brutal fights between man and beast, with the last occurring in 523 AD. Despite the many centuries since, it’s managed to remain incredibly intact. You’ll get to explore its secrets with your knowledgeable guide who will provide fascinating insight into its past. Afterward, head to the Roman Forum which dates all the way back to 500 BC. Enjoy the rest of the day to explore at your own pace.
- DAY 3
Rome: Vatican Tour
A private guided tour will bring you to Vatican City, the world’s smallest city-state to witness its renowned sights, including the Vatican museums, St. Peter’s Basilica and Sistine Chapel. The museums include some 1,400 rooms and halls with works dating over 3,000 years, including tapestries, frescoes, and sculptures. You’ll see Michelangelo’s frescoes in the Sistine Chapel and the early 17th-century basilica, Italy’s largest and most stunning, holding Michelangelo’s Pieta. Enjoy the rest of the day to explore at your own pace – we recommend strolling the enticing lanes in the medieval Trastevere neighbourhood, known for its outstanding family-run eateries and food markets.
- DAY 4
Florence: Travel by Train from Rome
It’s time to head to the beautiful city of Florence. This morning, you’ll take private transfer to the Roma station, catching the fast train for the under two-hour journey. Upon arrival, your private driver will bring you to your accommodation. Take time to relax and refreshing before heading out to explore at your own pace. One of the best ways to get started is to head to the Duomo with its stunning Renaissance dome. You can climb both the dome and the bell tower to take in a magnificent view of the city. Afterwards, indulge in creamy gelato while watching the world go by.
- DAY 5
Florence: Optional Private Morning Walking Tour
Today you can either enjoy a day at leisure exploring Florence on your own, or we can arrange a private morning tour for you. Your private guide will meet you this morning for a walking tour that will allow you to get to know Florence more in-depth. You’ll visit the Accademia Gallery to see the world-famous statue of David, made of marble standing more than 13 feet tall, and the magnificent Pitti Palace. You’ll stroll through the heart of the city and across the historic Ponte Vecchio Bridge – dating back to 1345, the medieval stone arch bridge spans the Arno River. Following your tour, you might want to enjoy more time at Pitti Palace, wander through the formal Boboli Gardens that lie right behind it.
- DAY 6
Florence: Day Trip to Siena and San Gimignano
Venturing outside of the city, enjoy a day trip with your private driver/guide, visiting two of the most breath-taking medieval towns, Siena and San Gimignano. The classic medieval hill town of Siena is famous for Piazza del Campo which hosts the biannual II Palio horse race. It’s one of Italy’s most remarkable squares and continues to play an active part in the life of the city. Your guide will bring you to a traditional Tuscan farmhouse for a wine tasting lunch after exploring and then you’ll continue to San Gimignano, renowned for its 14 medieval towers which soar above the skyline, providing awe-inspiring views.
- DAY 7
Florence: Day of Leisure
On your last full day, visit the sights of Florence you’d most like to experience. If you’re an art enthusiast, don’t miss the Bargello Gallery, most renowned for its vast collection of Italian Renaissance sculpture. It’s housed inside a three-story palace built in 1255 and has served as a police headquarters, tribunal and prison before becoming an art museum in the mid-19th-century. The Medici Chapels, filled with gorgeous Renaissance treasures, are also worth visiting. As Florence is also famous for its outstanding shopping, you’ll find endless opportunities for that too, along with several museums dedicated to fashion.
