Day by Day Itinerary
- DAYS 1 - 7
Italy
You will start this special trip in Italy: the food capital of the world, and the starting point for the ‘Eat’
in the eat, pray, love adventure. Located in the heart of Europe, Italy is a destination offering something for everyone, but your week here will be spent in three of the most iconic cities: Rome, Florence and Venice. Starting in the capital city, you will arrive into Rome and be privately transferred to your luxury hotel. The next two days will be spent exploring (and eating) your way through Rome. With private walking and museum tours, you will gain a great insight into the rich history of ancient Rome, discovering landmarks like the Roman Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and Vatican City. You will take a train across to Florence to stay here for two nights. Famed for its architecture and art, Florence is a little piece of heaven, home to charming, cobbled alleyways and an array of delicious Italian restaurants and ice-cream parlours. Our tour here includes a wonderful art tour of the Florence Accademia Gallery which is home to Michelangelo’s work and statues. You will then take a train to end the culinary trip with two nights in the picturesque city of Venice. Here you will embark on a private taste of Venice tour which starts from St. Mark’s Square, taking you through iconic sites like the Loggetta, the Marciana Library and the Bridge of Sighs. Just as Elizabeth did, eat your way through Italy without guilt, and fall in love with Italy’s food, cities and people. - DAY 7 - 14
India
The next destination on Elizabeth’s journey of self-discovery, and where she finds peace in prayer, is India. In the movie, her time was spent in a yoga ashram in a Ganeshpuri, just outside of Mumbai, but for this itinerary, we have taken the ‘pray’ element of her journey, and put designed a week-long trip across India, covering some of the most iconic temples and religious wonders. You will arrive into Delhi, spending two nights. You will have a private tour of Delhi, as well as a street food walk of Old Delhi. Walk (and eat) down the historic lanes of Shahjahanabad, as your guide explains all about the Jain and Hindu religious architectures along the way. On day three, you will take the 8am express train from Delhi to Agra which is an unforgettable experience in itself. Arriving in at 10am, you will have the rest of the day to enjoy a cycling tour and of course, a sunset tour of the Taj Mahal. This breath-taking ivory-white marble mausoleum sits on the river of Yamuna, and is one of the new UNESCO Seven Wonders of the World. Commissioned by Emperor Shah Jehan as a memorial to his wife in 1648, the Taj Mahal is one of the most desirable landmarks to see in India. You will then travel to Rishikesh for three nights of ultimate wellness and serenity. You will be staying at a luxury retreat – Ananda in the Himalayas – where you can fully relax, with yoga and meditation practices, spa facilities and an array of detox packages available. After a week in India, you will be ready to fly onto the final destination of this journey, feeling relaxed and revived.
- DAY 14 - 21
Bali
The final part of Elizabeth’s journey, is ‘love’ and this takes place in, what we would say, is one of the most romantic destinations on this earth: Bali. Located in Indonesia, Bali is a country home to dense jungles, white-sand beaches and soaring mountains. There is so much to do and see in Bali, but for this itinerary, you will spend three days in Ubud and four in Sanur. The first few days in Ubud – which is where the Bali part of eat, pray, love was filmed – you will have several private tours which will give you a fantastic flavor of Bali. These include an arts and culture tour, a tour of East Bali, and a rice field hike and cooking class with a local artist. Pass through dense forests and spice plantations as you explore local villages. You will then leave Ubud and spend four nights in Samur, on Bali’s south coast. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to stop at some iconic temples, the famous ‘Gates of Heaven’, and a sunset dinner tour of Uluwatu temple. On the penultimate date, you’ll do a speed boat tour of the Nusa islands. You’ll fall in love with the azure ocean waters and the isolated golden beaches. At the end of your week in Bali, head home knowing that your belly, heart and soul, are full of unforgettable experiences across Italy, India and Bali.
