Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 Milan: Arrive into Milan, Italy

Upon arrival into Milan, you’ll be met by your private driver for transfer to your hotel in the city center. This is the international capital of architecture industrial design and fashion as well as being a hub of finance and commerce. Many of the famous sights are within easy walking distance of each other in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore landmarks like the Duomo, the magnificent Gothic cathedral that took over six centuries to complete as the third largest in Europe, and the 16th-century neoclassical Royal Palace. Enjoy the lively buzz and wine bars at Port Genova this evening.

Day 2 Milan: Full Day Tour of Milan

Today you will enjoy a private guided tour of Milan visiting the 18th-century Teatro alla Scala and the Duomo. You’ll also explore the indoor shopping mall, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, renowned for its skylights and ornate architecture before continuing to the 15th-century castle/fortress Castello Sforzesco, home to a large art museum with Leonardo da Vinci’s works. Conclude with a guided visit to see da Vinci’s the Last Supper in the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie.

Day 3 Lake Como: Lake Cruise

Continue to your next destination, Lake Como, one of the Lake District’s three main lakes, offering a more tranquil atmosphere than the others. It’s surrounded by emerald forest, grand estates and perfectly manicured gardens, with snow-capped peaks in the distance. After your arrival into Como, enjoy the views by strolling along the waterfront promenade and then visit the 14th-century Cathedral of Como or sprawling Villa Olmo Park. This evening you’ll embark on a three-hour cruise across the sapphire waters passing elegant villas and serene bays while hearing about the history of the lake. After returning to shore, enjoy a four-course dinner with wine.

Day 4 Lake Como: Bellagio Walking Tour

Today you’ll hop on a boat to Bellagio, one of Lake Como’s most famous lakeside towns, for a walking tour. Your guide will show you the sights, including gems most visitors miss. Wander around Punta Spartivento enjoying the views and then walk to the little harbor of Aureggio village where you’ll see some rare 19th-century Larian gondola boats. Take a tour of Villa Mezi, a neoclassical villa with beautiful botanical gardens that contain a Japanese pond and rare exotic plants. Inside are impressive works of art and just adjacent is a small museum with Napoleonic memorabilia. Finish with lunch at a Michelin-star restaurant.

Day 5 Lake Como: Day of Leisure

You’ll have the day to yourself to explore the natural and historic sites around Como. Some suggestions include renting a kayak for a leisurely exploration of the lake, wine tasting at Lake Como’s oldest winery, Cantine Sorasso, or taking the funicular up to the small town of Brunate which sits high in the mountains above the lake. Other options include visiting the gorgeous town of Menaggio, set above Bellagio, or paragliding at Monte Cornizzolo for a bird’s-eye view of the lake and surrounding scenery. If you’re into rock climbing, the limestone and granite cliffs that surround the water are popular for practising the sport.

Day 6 Lake Garda: Afternoon Lake Tour

This morning enjoy breakfast and then head to Lake Garda, Italy’s largest lake, to check into your hotel along the lakeshore. Enjoy the relaxing laid-back vibe and beautiful views before heading out to explore on a half day afternoon tour after lunch. You’ll get a good look of the many lakeside villages – on the north end they tend to be smaller with a tranquil feel for unwinding while the villages at the south end are larger and offer more vibrant nightlife with trendy restaurants and bars.

Day 7 Lake Garda: Dolomite Mountains Day Trip

A day trip to the Dolomite Mountains is a definite highlight as one of the world’s most stunning ranges, forming part of the Italian Alps. You’ll begin your tour in South Tyrol to discover the internationally renowned Gardena Valley and the magical village of Ortisei with its traditional home and many beautifully carved wooden sculptures. Enjoy a cable car ride, ascending 7,600 feet for breathing mountain views and then sample some of the typical Tyrolean fare for lunch in own. You’ll ride up Sella Pass and then head down the other side, driving through Fassa and Ega valleys for your final stop, Lake Carezza.

Day 8 Departure

After a week of exploring one of Italy’s most cosmopolitan cities and the stunning Lake District, your tour comes to an end. Enjoy one last breakfast over some tasty Italian coffee before taking private transfer to the airport to begin your journey home or travels elsewhere.
