You travel from Zermatt to glamorous St. Moritz via one of the world’s most scenic rail adventures, the Glacier Express Train, a route rolling through the heart of the Alps, with craggy peaks soaring into the nearly always bright blue skies. It chugs through 91 tunnels and over 291 bridges, passing lush emerald valleys dotted with cows and chalets. Inspiring guided tours, unique experiences and accommodation are all included too.

Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 Zurich: Arrival into Zurich, Switzerland
After landing at Zurich Airport, you’ll be welcomed by your private driver for transfer to your accommodation in Switzerland’s largest city, the financial center and wealthiest city in Europe. After settling in you might want to go window shopping along Bahnofstrasse, lined with luxury stores and big-name brands like Gucci and Chanel. If you’ve got a sweet tooth there are some fantastic shops for decadent desserts tucked in between. There is no shortage of world-class fine dining restaurants, serving traditional dishes from across the country along with Zurich specialities like Zurcher Geschnetzeltes, veal cooked with cream, onions, mushrooms and wine.
Day 2 Lucerne: Private Guided City Tour + Max Chocolatier Tour
This morning your private driver will pick you up at your Zurich hotel for transfer to Lucerne. After checking in you’ll join a local guide for a private tour of this storybook city along the banks of Lake Lucerne. Start by strolling across the 14th-century Chapel Bridge and the Mill Bridge where you’ll the historic covered “Dance of Death” bridge with its series of macabre paintings. Gaze up at the Old City ramparts and Musegg Wall, visit the Town Hall and the Lion Monument, among other landmarks. Later you’ll head to Max Chocolatier for a tour, tasting and the opportunity to make your own chocolate.
Day 3 Lucerne: Cruise, Train, Cable Cars & Stunning Alps Views
Be sure to bring your camera as you set out with your private guide, starting with a scenic cruise on Lake Lucerne to Alpnachstad. After disembarking you’ll hop on the steepest cogwheel train in the world, ascending to Mount Pilatus. Once you reach the top, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking panoramic vista over the Alps and Lucerne, with time to wander around and capture plenty of pictures. On your return you’ll ride a series of scenic cable cars, soaring over lush meadows and pine forest to Kriens village at the foot of Mount Pilatus. From there, private transfer will return you to your Lucerne hotel.
Day 4 Interlaken: Scenic Transfer + Horse-and-Carriage Ride
Leaving Lucerne this morning, a private scenic transfer brings you to Interlaken through Brünig Pass which connects the Bernese Oberland and central Switzerland. Your driver will make a stop along the way so that you can capture photos of the breathtaking views. After reaching Interlaken, check into your accommodation and then enjoy a tranquil one-hour carriage ride. This resort town built was built a valley between the emerald-hued waters of Lake Brienz and Lake Thun, and has parkland on one side of the turquoise Aare River and historic timber homes on the other, surrounded by dense forest, mountains and alpine meadows.
Day 5 Interlaken: Magnificent Mountain scenery & Thrill Walk
Your private driver/guide will meet you this morning for an unforgettable tour that takes you to Lauterbrunnen and Stechelberg, passing cascading waterfalls, charming villages, pine forests and lush meadows. You’ll ride the longest aerial cable car in Europe to the top of Mount Schiltorn in Stechelberg, soaking up the jaw-dropping views that stretch from Germany’s Black Forest to Mont Blanc in France. Enjoy lunch on your own at the revolving Piz Gloria restaurant spotlighted in the James Bond film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” before embarking on the heart-pounding Thrill Walk, descending to the vertical walls of the rock massif.
Day 6 Interlaken: Day of Leisure
After so many busy days, enjoy today at your leisure, relaxing or exploring more of the magnificent scenery Interlaken has to offer. You might want to take a nostalgic trip on Lake Brienz in a steamboat, sailing across the shimmer turquoise water surrounded by the mountains. You’ll be able to marvel at beautiful Giessback waterfall which plunges more than 1,600 feet, along with tranquil streams that flow into the lake while relaxing on deck breathing in the fresh air. If you want to get more active, rent a standup paddleboard or kayak and paddle around Lake Brienz or Lake Thun.
Day 7 Zermatt: Spectacularly Scenic Transfer from Interlaken
Another incredibly scenic transfer will be enjoyed today. Your private driver will pick you up at your hotel in Interlaken for the drive through picturesque Grimsel Pass in the Bernese Alps, travelling to the village gate of car-free Zermatt. The famous Matterhorn that soars for nearly 15,000 feet is one of the world’s most photographed and overlooks this spectacular mountain town. Upon your arrival, you’ll have the rest of the day to enjoy it on your own. If you’re in the mood for some pampering, there are many fabulous spas offering everything from massages and mud facials to Jacuzzi soaks.
Day 8 Zermatt: Matterhorn Glacier Paradise
You’ve been marvelling at the Matterhorn from Zermatt and now you’ll get to head to the top for an especially memorable experience. Your private guide will bring you on an adventure that travels to over 12,700 feet to the highest aerial cableway and mountain station in Europe. If you’d like you can continue even higher to a viewing platform that reveals 38 peaks of Swiss, French and Italian Alps soaring more than 13,000 feet, along with more than a dozen glaciers. Also included is a visit to the underground Glacier Palace, the world’s highest glacier with its sparkling ice crystals and glittering ice sculptures.
Day 9 St. Moritz: The Glacier Express Train
One of the highlights of your trip, today you’ll embark on a breathtaking journey via the world-renowned Glacier Express train. Your luggage will be transferred from your hotel in Zermatt to accommodation in St. Moritz, so you won’t have to worry about lugging around heavy bags. Take private transfer to the station and hop on the train for a ride of a lifetime. An approximately eight-hour journey, you’ll travel across nearly 300 bridges, through 91 tunnels and over Oberalp pass, taking in the stunning quintessential Swiss Alps scenery, including the Rhone and Rhine rivers, and Rhone Glacier, with a backdrop of the towering peaks.
Day 10 St. Moritz: Rosseg Valley Private Horse Carriage Tour
Enjoy a unique experience with a five-hour tour to Roseg Valley taken in a private horse carriage. You’ll be picked up by your driver for the short transfer to Pontresina, boarding the buggy for a scenic ride that passes cascading waterfalls and a bubbling stream while colourful flowers bloom and birds twitter about. A two-hour stop will be made at Roseg-Gletscher mountain lodge where, if you wish, you can choose to dine on delicious Grisons specialities paired with wine. If time allows, you’ll also be able visit the end of the Roseg glacier before making your return to St. Moritz.
Day 11 Zurich: Private Guided Walking Tour
This morning you’ll make the return to Zurich via private transfer, an approximately 3.5-hour drive with an option to stop in Heidiland. After checking into your Zurich hotel, you’ll meet your private guide for a walking tour of the city center. Enjoy the mix of old and new in one of the most important financial centers of the world, exploring the business district with its many shops as well as the Old Town. You’ll walk alongside Lake Zurich to enjoy the greenery and a view of Zurich before visiting Fraumunster to marvel at the beautiful stained-glass windows by artist Marc Chagall at Fraumunster Church.
Day 12 Departure
With your camera filled with incredible photos and your mind filled with wonderful memories, this morning your 11-night Signature Switzerland tour comes to an end. Your private driver will meet you at your accommodation after breakfast for transfer to the airport where you can catch your flight home or head out on further travels.
