Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 Cape Town
Your exciting South African adventure begins with your arrival into Cape Town International Airport. Our driver/guide will be there to greet you, providing transfer to your hotel in scenic Cape Town. The crown jewel in this country that’s filled with natural wonders and scenic landscapes, it sits at the confluence of the Atlantic and Indian ocean, nestled between Table Bay and the slopes of Table Mountain. There are idyllic beaches for enjoying the sand and the surf, vineyards, a beautiful harbour and all sorts of flora and fauna to enjoy. After settling in, relax with a view, or do a little exploring.
Day 2 Full Day Cape Point Tour
Your guide will meet you after breakfast for a full-day tour of the Cape Peninsula. Explore this 32-mile-long stretch with beautiful beaches and mountains, stopping at Boulders Beach in Simon’s Town, famous for its penguin colonies and granite boulders that protect the cove, providing calm, turquoise water for swimming, one of the world’s few places where you can swim with the tuxedoed water birds. Visit Hout Bay where you can take a boat ride to Seal Island and relax in one of the casual eateries, and then stroll through the colorful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens which displays the region’s beautiful flora.
Day 3 Robben Island, City Tour & Table Mountain
This morning you will take a boat to Robben Island, followed by a half-day Cape Town City and Table Mountain Tour. Robben Island, primarily used as a prison, is most famous as the place where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years. Today, it’s a historic landmark and includes a museum that offers interesting tours led by one of its former political prisoners. Table Mountain is one of the top attractions here, drawing avid hikers to its scenic paths that lead to the summit, bringing magnificent views of Cape Town, the waterfront, 12 Apostles and more.
Day 4 Full Day Winelands Tour
After breakfast this morning, check out of your hotel and join your guide for a full-day Cape Winelands Tour, which concludes with drop off at your accommodation in Franschhoek, known for its Cape Dutch architecture and centuries-old vineyards. This tour provides lunch and provides a great introduction to the Winelands region, with tastings covering white, red, and sparkling wines. This fertile area is home to a wide range of world-class wine estates and restaurants, with Franschhoek also known for its interesting history. One of the oldest towns in the country, it was once a hideout for French Huguenots who were fleeing from Europe.
Day 5 Kruger National Park
Enjoy an early breakfast before your transfer back to Cape Town’s airport for your flight to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport in Nelspruit. Upon your arrival, you’ll be transferred to the world-famous Kruger National Park with its diverse array of ecosystems and wide range of animals, including the Big Five: elephant, lion, black rhino, Cape buffalo and leopard. One of the largest game reserves in Africa, covering nearly two million hectares of land with a variety of habitats, it provides the epitome of safari experiences here. Look forward to lots of wildlife sightings during your unforgettable stay here.
Day 6 Kruger National Park
This morning you will head out on your first morning game drive. Kruger is not only home to the Big Five, but it boasts the greatest diversity of wildlife anywhere else on the continent, with 145 different mammal species that also includes giraffe, hippo and crocodile, along with impressive birdlife like parrots, hornbills and raptors. There is an option to go out on a walking safari where your guide can teach you how to read the tracks the animals make. This is one experience where you definitely won’t want to forget your camera.
Day 7 Kruger National Park
Spend another day in the Kruger National Park, with its network of roads making it one of the most accessible parks, bringing many opportunities to explore the vast landscape of granite hills in the south, mountains rising from the savannah in the east and tropical forests covering the north. In addition to the other animals noted, watch for hyena, wildebeest, warthogs, cheetah, zebra, and a wealth of antelope species. You might spot Africa’s largest eagle hanging out in big trees, the martial eagle has an incredible wingspan of about 6’ 4” and enough power in one foot to break an arm.
Day 8 Bazaruto Archipelago, Mozambique
Today you will be transferred to the airport where you will check in for your flight to Vilanculous in Mozambique. On arrival you will be met and assisted to the helicopter for your short flight into the Bazaruto Archipelago and your hotel for the next week.
The archipelago comprises of six islands all are within the Bazaruto National Park. The park is known for its incredible marine life and white sand beaches.
Day 9-14 Bazaruto Archipelago, Mozambique
Spend the next week relaxing on the beach or exploring the area.
We highly recommend spending some time diving or snorkeling in the area. There are hundreds of species of tropical fish, coral, rays, invertebrates, as well as the possibility of seeing various species of turtle, or humpback whales during their annual migration. Sightings of dolphin are common and if you are lucky, the highly endangered gentle giants, the dugong, may make an appearance too.
Day 15 Depart
Today you can enjoy a last swim and breakfast before your guide meets you and transfers you to the helicopter for your flight back to Vilanculous Airport. On arrival you will check in for your onward flight connection.
