Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 Cape Town

Cape Town

Welcome to Cape Town. A driver/guide will meet you at the airport for transfer to your hotel, allowing you to gaze out at the magnificent scenery that includes the city’s most recognized landmark, Table Mountain. It overlooks Cape Town and Table Bay, dominated the north end of the Cape Peninsula. You’ll spend five days at a luxury hotel along the V&A waterfront, a safe area within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. After checking in, you might want to rest up from your long flight before enjoying a short stroll to find a spot for dinner and do some browsing.

Day 2 Cape Town and Robben Island Tour

    Waterfront Cape Town

Today you’ll take a tour of Robben Island, located several miles off the coast from the V&A Waterfront. This World Heritage Site has had a number of incarnations as a military base, leper colony, mental institution, and most famously, a prison. This was where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for 18 years. You’ll be able to stand in his cell, and experience what he felt when his cell door slammed shut, learning more about Mandela and the island from your guide, a former prison guard and friend of the anti-apartheid revolutionary, political leader. After your return, enjoy dining along the waterfront.

      Day 3 Cape Point Tour

      Boulders beach

A full day private tour will bring you to Cape Point with a scenic drive along a road that winds between the Atlantic and the mountains to the southwestern tip of the African continent. Enjoy a stop in the charming Hout Bay and at several gorgeous viewpoints that provide outstanding photo-ops. Your guide will bring you to Boulders Beach, home to a famous penguin sanctuary, before taking you to a beach only known to the locals where you can relax on the sand right with the tuxedoed birds.

        Day 4 Cape Winelands Tour

Journey into the Cape Winelands where endless vineyards cover the landscape less than an hour from Cape Town, where you’ll learn about the region’s wine while tasting with some of South Africa’s top winemakers. Discover the story of Pinotage, the indigenous grape created in 1925, from the grandson of viticulturist Abraham Perold who first cloned it. A cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault, it’s surprisingly bolder than both its progenitors. At the next wine farm, you’ll enjoy a wine and food pairing. This tour is tailor made to your wine tastes, so let us know what you enjoy!

Day 5 Cape Town and Table Mountain Cable Car

          Cable Car

You’ve seen Table Mountain from below, today, you’ll head to the top by cable car. It revolves along the way to provide a stunning 360-degree panoramic view from the summit. You’ll be able to gaze over the city as well as the Atlantic and Indian oceans from the top before taking one of the easy walking trails. After returning to the city, meet up with our local guide who will bring you to the colourful markets and a neighbourhood popular for its vibrant street art. If you’d like, your tour today can be personalized to highlight your interests, such as nature, culture and art.

Day 7 Sabi Sands Game Reserve

              Sabi Sands Game Reserve

You will be transferred back to the airport this morning for your flight to the Sabi Sands the most famous group of private game reserves in Africa.

The Sabi Sand Reserve shares a 50km unfenced boundary with the main Kruger National Park allowing the wildlife to wander freely through a huge area. Two perennial rivers, the Sabi and Sand Rivers sustain the diverse fauna and flora of the area, which enjoys one of the highest and most bio-diverse wildlife populations of any reserve in Africa. The Sabi Sands is a private reserve, this means that only lodge guests can explore the reserve. There are no crowds and you can enjoy the beauty and peace of the African bush.

Day 8 Sabi Sands Game Reserve

You will enjoy morning and afternoon game drives out on the reserve with an expert ranger and local tracker. For guests who are feeling adventurous, there is the opportunity to head out into the reserve on foot with your ranger for a guided safari walk. During the midday heat between game drives we recommend you relax in the pool, take advantage of the spa and gym or have a midday sleep! There is a wide range of community projects in the reserve and they welcome the opportunity to take guests out to the villages to get involved in their valuable work.

The reserve has plentiful wildlife including the Big Five (lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos & buffalo) as well as crocodiles, hippos, wild dogs, giraffes, zebra, cheetahs and huge numbers of plains game. Elephant & Baby

As your activities are tailored to your interests, what you do today will all be determined by that, but one thing you can expect is every moment to be different. Perhaps you’ll wake up to see kudus grazing just steps from your accommodation or you’ll witness elephants wondering by as you watch the sun come up.
