Set 1,500m above sea level just outside the village of Brinchang, Cameron Highlands Resort is built as a long extension from an existing 1930s colonial cottage. The interiors hark back to its grand heritage with tall French doors, timber-beamed ceilings and plantation shutters draped with the colours and textures of Jim Thompson’s famed Asian silks. There are 56 well-appointed rooms and suites, each spacious and elegantly furnished, with fine views of the golf course, rolling hills, and lush forests. Dining sees a blend of hill-station era colonial flavours with authentic Asian flair, with meals taken in the main dining room or in the snug tearoom. An atmospheric bar, award-winning spa, grand ballroom, and reading room complete the communal spaces.
