This is a perfect time to enjoy a relaxed sample as you’ll have a few days at the end of the trip to experience it more in-depth. Renowned for its fashion, food and culture, you’ll find plenty of ways to indulge, shopping unique boutiques, people watching from a sidewalk café, relaxing in a wine bar or dining in one of the classic bistros.
Day 2 Bordeaux: Transfer from Paris
This morning private transfer brings you to the station to catch the train to Bordeaux. Another driver will welcome you for private transfer to your accommodation in the city. After dropping off your luggage, explore the city’s impressive mix of historic and modern at your leisure. While its the largest urban world heritage site, with over half the city UNESCO-protected, you’ll find striking new architecture too, like the Jean-Jacques Bosc bridge which crosses the Garonne River and the La Cite du Vin. Be sure to sample the fare at a food truck or gourmet restaurant, with wine lists that focus on the vineyards nearby.
Day 3 Bordeaux: Farmers Market and Wine Tour
Enjoy two private half-day tours today, starting at the Capucin Farmer’s Market. Your guide will help you navigate through all the vendors and stalls packed with colourful local produce, fish, meats, cheeses, breads, and pastries as you mingle with chefs and locals who come to do their shopping, getting a good sense of daily life in Bordeaux. Enjoy lunch on your own and then join a private wine tour starting at the Place Royale to learn about the role the city’s riverfront port played in the wine trade. Hop on the tram to a wine museum next, finishing with a tasting at a wine bar.

Along the way enjoy views of the vineyard-covered hills while learning about the Saint Emilion and Bordeaux wine regions. You’ll visit an intimate wine estate first, strolling around the vineyards, touring the traditional vat room and heading into the cellar for a tasting before heading to a Great Classified Growth estate for a lesson on the winemaking process followed by an aperitif with French delicacies. Conclude with a guided tour of medieval Saint Emilion village.
Day 5 Loire Valley: Medoc Wine Route + Transfer to Loire Valley
A private 5-hours tour of the Medoc Wine Route, one of the most beautiful roads between the Gironde estuary and the Atlantic, with the 50-mile stretch home to all the Bordeaux wines classified as Cru Bourgeois as well as being jam-packed with spectacular landscapes and history. You’ll have many outstanding photo-ops, including Pauillac and the property of Margaux. Afterwards, your driver will drop you off at the train station, transferring to the Loire Valley.
