Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 Budapest: Arrival into Budapest, Hungary

Hungary, Budapest

Your nine nights through Eastern Europe highlights begin after touching down into Budapest Airport. You’ll be met by your private driver who will answer any questions you might have and bring you to your hotel in the city. Sometimes referred to as the “Paris of the East,” Hungary’s thriving capital is known for its many UNESCO World Heritage Sites and thermal baths. While you can enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure, you might want to relax in the Széchenyi Baths, located in City Park. The more than a century-old baths include 18 pools, set within magnificent Baroque architecture.

Day 2 Budapest: Private Guided Tour of Budapest

    Hungary, Budapest

Enjoy a half-day tour with your private guide to discover some of the most captivating views and magnificent architecture in Budapest. You’ll get to marvel at the Church of Our Lady of Buda, originally built in the early 11th-century, although the Gothic-style building you see today was constructed in the 14th century. It was the main mosque here for 150 years during Turkish occupation. Next door is the 19th-century Fisherman’s Bastian with seven towers that represent the seven Magyar tribes who originally settled the area in 895 AD. From the towers you can look out over the Danube River and the city.

Day 3 Bratislava: Private Walking Tour of Bratislava

      Bratislava, Slovakia

Heading to Bratislava today, your private driver will transfer you to the train station where you’ll hop aboard the train for the approximately 2.5-hour ride. Upon your arrival, a private driver will welcome you to the city and deliver you to your hotel. A private walking tour of Bratislava and its most well-known attractions follows, led by a local guide. It includes the chance to explore the glamourous Old Town and Primatial Palace, the Main Square and Old Town Hall, the former Hungary Chamber, several churches and the historical Academia Istropolitana. You’ll also visit Reduta, Michael’s Gate and the Slovak National Theatre.

Day 4 Bratislava: Small Carpathian Mountains Excursion

        Carpathian Mountains, Slovakia

A full-day private tour brings you into the Small Carpathian Mountains today. Nestled within the south-eastern slopes are Slovakia’s most renowned vineyards. You’ll get to stroll through typical wine growing towns, visit the manufacturing plant of majolica-ceramics, Driny cave and Red Stone Castle where there are white peacocks on its grounds, providing a good glimpse of rural life here. Discovering Central Europe’s largest cellar-vaults and the unique strategic fortifications system is something you won’t soon forget. Of course, the highlight may be the wine tasting, with the local vino that’s been served to both the locals and royals, sipped in a vintner-cellar.

Day 5 Vienna: Transfer from Bratislava

          Vienna, Austria

Leaving Bratislava this morning you’ll take private transfer to beautiful Vienna, known as the gateway between Western and Eastern Europe. As the majority of the monuments avoided destruction during the Second World War, it’s still home to magnificent architecture. Various styles can be found within the landmarks, from the gothic-style St. Stephen’s Cathedral to the baroque Schönbrunn Palace. After your arrival, get settled in and perhaps do a little bit of exploring. We recommend getting re-energised with the tasty Viennese coffee, paired with a famous classic Viennese dessert like apple strudel, Kaiserschmarn (a fluffy shredded pancake) or Sachertorte, a heavenly Viennese chocolate cake.

Day 6 Vienna: Private Walking Tour of Vienna

            Vienna, Austria

Today you’ll get to discover Vienna more in-depth, including its culture on a private walking tour with a local guide. You’ll follow in the footsteps of the ‘Sisi’ of Austria, the famous Empress Elizabeth, starting at the Imperial Crypt, a burial chamber that lies beneath the Capuchin Church and monastery, founded in 1618. It’s the final resting place for the remains of 143 Habsburg royalty, including the sarcophaguses of Empress Elisabeth and Crown Prince Rudolf. Your tour concludes with a private 40-minute horse and carriage ride around the famous Ringstrasse, the world’s most spectacular boulevard lined with many of the city’s most beloved sights.

Day 7 Vienna: Wachau Valley Tour and Danube Boat Ride

              Wachau Valley, Austria

A full-day tour will take you outside of the city to explore the Wachau Valley and Danube River. Embark on a scenic boat ride that winds through picturesque historic villages, spectacular castles and precipitous vineyards, where the region’s legends and history come to life. The old wine merchant town of Krems is at its heart, with a stop here bringing the chance to visit the “Cradle of Austria,” Mel as well as the spectacular Benedictine Abbey. A break will be taken for lunch – you can bring your own or enjoy local fare at the Abbey restaurant. Your excursion concludes at Vienna’s Opera House.

Day 8 Prague: Transfer from Vienna

                Prague, Czech Republic

Private transfer brings you to the train station where you’ll take the train to your next destination, Prague. Once there, you’ll be met by your private vehicle and driver for transfer to your hotel. This romantic city is known for its fairytale-like castles and tableau of red-tiled roofs. It’s filled with picturesque bridges, arcaded homes in pastel hues, and Gothic churches. It also has a modern side with a wealth of interesting shops, great pubs and innovative restaurants. After getting settled into your accommodation, enjoy exploring the city at your leisure. Svata Klara is a highly recommended eatery located inside a natural cave.

Day 9 Prague: Private Tour of Prague

                  Prague, Czech Republic

An exciting day is on tap, with a private tour through Prague. Your private guide/driver will bring you to many of the top spots, including the National Museum, State Opera, Prague Castle, and both Wenceslas and Charles squares. You’ll be able to walk around the castle’s courtyards and gaze up at majestic St. Vitus Cathedral. From there, continue to the Old Town, visiting the Old Town Hall with its famous astronomical clock, Tyn Cathedral and St. Nicholas Church. Walking along the Royal Route and Karlova Street to the romantic Charles Bridge you’ll get a perfect view of Prague Castle before concluding at Mala Strana.

                    Day 10 Departure

                    Prague, Czech Republic

Your memorable nights through Eastern Europe concludes in Prague this morning. After checking out of your hotel, you’ll be met by private transfer for the journey to Václav Havel Airport Prague to catch your flight back home.
