Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Maun, Botswana
You will arrive into Maun Airport in Botswana where you will be met and assisted to you light aircraft for your flight into the Moremi Game Reserve. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your camp.
The Moremi Game Reserve is a renowned reserve spanning across 4871 square kilometres. Landscapes vary from waterways to thick forests and open savannah. Camp Moremi overlooks the Xakanaxa Lagoon, with dazzling views of riverine forest. Each safari suite is furnished with a private decks and en-suite bathrooms.
Day 2 Camp Moremi, Moremi Game Reserve
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the reserve. Wildlife here is abundant, with lion, cheetah, wild dog, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, and many other species to be seen. The wildebeest, elephant and zebra flock into the reserve from the dry Kalahari areas in search of food and water. Birdlife is equally rich, the reserve is home to over 400 species of birds, including the African Fish Eagle, the Crested Crane and the Sacred Ibis.
Day 3 Camp Moremi, Moremi Game Reserve
A second full day to explore the reserve.
Moremi has a wide range of habitats, dry islands, forest, rivers and wetlands which leads to a high density of wildlife in the area. The Rhino was re introduced into the Moremi and it is now a Big 5 destination. The Moremi is a wild and pristine game viewing area offering guests one of the best safaris in Africa.
Day 4 Xugana Island Lodge, Okavango Delta
Today you will be transferred into the Okavango Delta, the world’s largest inland delta. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is an oasis amidst Botswana’s dry Kalahari Desert, spanning over 15, 000 square kilometres. Waterways, lagoons, floodplains, and islands are rich in wildlife and birdlife. Species found in this region include rhino, hippo, elephant, lion, giraffe, leopard, and crocodile.
Xugana Island Lodge is located on the Xugana Lagoon – a scenic water site within the Delta. Here, elevated en-suite chalets have private decks overlooking the lagoon.
Day 5 Xugana Island Lodge, Okavango Delta
Xugana Island Lodge focuses on game viewing from the water. Experience boat safaris and dugout canoe (Mokoro) trips to spot game near the water.
Gliding through the channels in a mokoro is an iconic Delta experience. You silently pass through the reserve, so the animals are unaware of your presence. Watch elephants bathing, hippos socialising or the zebra drinking as you cruise past. When you are in a mokoro you are eye level with the reeds of the channels, so you spot the tiny frogs, insects and birds that rest on them.
Your experienced guide will also take you on a guided nature walk through the surrounding islands in the concession, giving you the chance to experience nature on foot.
Day 6 Chobe Princess, Chobe River
Today you will be transferred to the airstrip for a light aircraft transfer to Kasane where you will be met and transferred to the Chobe River.
The Chobe River lies between Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Botswana. It is home to some of the best wildlife viewing on the planet, with a large number of species to be seen. Elephants are found in the thousands here, with hundreds at a time making their way over the river during the elephant crossing.
The Chobe Princess is a fully equipped houseboat. Boats are fitted with en-suite rooms featuring every amenity needed for your stay. Smaller boats can be used for game viewing and sailing. Unwind on your private deck while you watch the wildlife along the shoreline.
Day 7 Chobe Princess, Chobe River
Guests can choose to do as much or as little as they would like while onboard. Perhaps you want to enjoy a water-based safari or a village tour on the Namibian side of the river? Or perhaps you would prefer a spot of bird watching or fishing instead? Or for the more adventurous a walking tour to a 2000-year-old baobab tree? You may even decide to simply remain on board as the Chobe Princess houseboat glides its way along the banks of the Chobe River.
After your morning activities, enjoy lunch on board while using your unique vantage point to spot wild animals and drink in the expansive views.
Join a guide in the afternoon for a water-based safari on a tender boat where you can get up close to an array of wildlife, including some of the 120 000 elephants for which the Chobe is well known.
Day 8 Victoria Falls
Enjoy a morning cruise during breakfast as you do your last bit of animal spotting. You will then disembark and be transferred back to the mainland. You will be met by your driver and transferred over the boarder to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.
Victoria Falls forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe and is also known as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ which translates to ‘The Smoke that Thunders’.
Day 9 Victoria Falls
This morning you will enjoy a tour of the falls and the afternoon is free for you to relax or book one of the many activities available in Victoria Falls.
The tour of the Falls is approximately 2 hours and your guide will walk you along the falls explain its geography and history. Being this close to the falls is an amazing experience.
In the evening you may choose to book a sunset dinner cruise on the Zambezi River, the perfect way to end a day.
Day 10 Depart Victoria Falls
This morning you will check out of your hotel after breakfast. You will be met by your driver and transferred to Victoria Falls Airport for your onward flight connection.
