Housed in an early 1940s Thai villa, Ariyasomvilla is a colonial-style building that was constructed by the current owners’ grandparents. It sits at the end of a quiet soi yet it’s just minutes from bustling Sukhumvit Road. The 25-room boutique hotel retains the elegance of a classic residence with period furniture and traditional teakwood flooring combined with modern conveniences like Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, safes and electric kettles. The large bathrooms have separate rainfall showers and tubs along with robes and slippers. In the property’s open-air halls, meditation and yoga classes are offered, while the Som Sen Spa takes relaxation up a notch with traditional Thai massage. There’s a fabulous garden pool with loungers shaded by trees and large ferns along with a fitness area featuring weight- and cardio-training equipment. The Na Aroon restaurant appeals to guests and non-guests alike, serving seafood dishes prepared Thai-style and vegetarian meals as well as homemade desserts.
