Begin your romantic adventure through Italy and Greece by arriving into one of Rome’s two international airports. This evening, you’ll meet with a local guide for a tour of the highlights in central Rome, soaking up its nearly 3,000 years of history. This morning you’ll tour the Vatican with a private guide who will provide fascinating insight into what you’re seeing. Visit the most captivating sights in the Vatican, including the stunning Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo’s famous 16th-century frescoes and St. Peter’s Basilica, said to be the burial site of Saint Peter, chief among Jesus’ apostles and the first Bishop of Rome. As you tour, you’ll learn more about the art and history of the world’s smallest city-state. Today your private local guide will reveal some of the quieter, less-visited streets of central Rome. A tasting/walking tour, you’ll be shown the sights while enjoying samples of traditional Roman fare. Just some of what you have to look forward to may include local cheeses and pizza from a historic bakery, traditional Italian espresso and wine. After your tour, you’ll have the rest of the day to explore at your own pace. You might want to enjoy a tranquil stroll through the landscaped garden of Villa Borghese or shop for last-minute souvenirs as tomorrow you’ll be traveling to the next destination on your itinerary.

Get ready to head to the Amalfi Coast this morning. After breakfast, you’ll transfer to the train station to catch your train to Naples. Upon your arrival, your private driver will meet you there for the transfer to Praiano, your home for the next three nights. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure, relaxing and soaking up the gorgeous coastal views or perhaps heading to nearby Positano, the famous cliffside village with steep, narrow streets lined with cafes and boutiques as well as offering a pebbly beachfront. It’s less than 10 minutes away by taxi or 15 minutes by bus.

Hiking the Amalfi Coast, renowned for some of the world’s most breath-taking views, is an amazing experience. Today you’ll embark on the Path of the Gods hike with your private guide. It was a historian and politician who named it in the 1800s for its mythological roots in the tale of The Odyssey. Legend tells when the gods rushed to save Ulysses from the singing sirens on Capri, they stamped out the path in the process. After, hiking, enjoy a traditional lunch.

You’ll experience more of the Amalfi Coast by taking a day trip to the town of Ravello, nestled in the cliffs overlooking the sea. It’s one of the most picturesque towns in the region, renowned for its sweeping seascapes and iconic cliffside gardens. The Moorish-style Villa Rufolo was built in the 13th-century and offers far-reaching views from its terraced gardens where concerts are held during the summertime Ravello festival. After exploring the town, you’ll continue to a local vineyard to enjoy a lunch with a wine tasting, sampling several varietals and learning about them before returning to your hotel in Praiano.

The second portion of your itinerary begins today, starting with a private transfer to Naples where you’ll catch your flight to Santorini. Upon your arrival to the island’s airport, your private driver will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After settling in, you might want to take a walk to Skaros Roc in front of Imerovigli. The rocky headland juts out into the sapphire Aegean, and was once home to a castle, though ruined in a 19th-century earthquake. Savour your last moments on Santorini and then check out of your accommodation, taking private transfer to the port to catch the ferry to Mykonos.
