This evening, you’ll meet with a local guide for a tour of the highlights in central Rome, soaking up its nearly 3,000 years of history. Some of the most iconic landmarks you’re likely to witness include Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, Palazzo di Montecitorio, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Roman Colosseum and the many romantic bridges in various architecture styles.
Day 2 Rome: Vatican City Tour
This morning you’ll tour the Vatican with a private guide who will provide fascinating insight into what you’re seeing. Visit the most captivating sights in the Vatican, including the stunning Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo’s famous 16th-century frescoes and St. Peter’s Basilica, said to be the burial site of Saint Peter, chief among Jesus’ apostles and the first Bishop of Rome. As you tour, you’ll learn more about the art and history of the world’s smallest city-state. Enjoy the rest of the day on your own, perhaps discovering an enticing café to relax with a glass of wine and do some people watching.
Day 3 Rome: Tour of Less-Visited Its Culinary Delights
Today your private local guide will reveal some of the quieter, less-visited streets of central Rome. A tasting/walking tour, you’ll be shown the sights while enjoying samples of traditional Roman fare. Just some of what you have to look forward to may include local cheeses and pizza from a historic bakery, traditional Italian espresso and wine. After your tour, you’ll have the rest of the day to explore at your own pace. You might want to enjoy a tranquil stroll through the landscaped garden of Villa Borghese or shop for last-minute souvenirs as tomorrow you’ll be traveling to the next destination on your itinerary.
Day 4 Praiano: Transfer from Rome via Naples
Get ready to head to the Amalfi Coast this morning. After breakfast, you’ll transfer to the train station to catch your train to Naples. Upon your arrival, your private driver will meet you there for the transfer to Praiano, your home for the next three nights. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure, relaxing and soaking up the gorgeous coastal views or perhaps heading to nearby Positano, the famous cliffside village with steep, narrow streets lined with cafes and boutiques as well as offering a pebbly beachfront. It’s less than 10 minutes away by taxi or 15 minutes by bus.
Day 5 Praiano: Guided Path of the Gods Hike
Hiking the Amalfi Coast, renowned for some of the world’s most breath-taking views, is an amazing experience. Today you’ll embark on the Path of the Gods hike with your private guide. This clifftop trail views gorgeous views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and was once the only link between the villages along the coast. It was a historian and politician who named it in the 1800s for its mythological roots in the tale of The Odyssey. Legend tells when the gods rushed to save Ulysses from the singing sirens on Capri, they stamped out the path in the process. After, hiking, enjoy a traditional lunch.
Day 6 Praiano: Day Trip to Ravello + Wine Tasting and Lunch
You’ll experience more of the Amalfi Coast by taking a day trip to the town of Ravello, nestled in the cliffs overlooking the sea. It’s one of the most picturesque towns in the region, renowned for its sweeping seascapes and iconic cliffside gardens. The Moorish-style Villa Rufolo was built in the 13th-century and offers far-reaching views from its terraced gardens where concerts are held during the summertime Ravello festival. After exploring the town, you’ll continue to a local vineyard to enjoy a lunch with a wine tasting, sampling several varietals and learning about them before returning to your hotel in Praiano.
Day 7 Santorini: Transfer to Naples + Flight to Santorini
The second portion of your itinerary begins today, starting with a private transfer to Naples where you’ll catch your flight to Santorini. Upon your arrival to the island’s airport, your private driver will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After settling in, you might want to take a walk to Skaros Roc in front of Imerovigli. The rocky headland juts out into the sapphire Aegean, and was once home to a castle, though ruined in a 19th-century earthquake. The church of Agios Georgios also boasts an amazing view of Skaros and the caldera from its terrace.
Day 8 Santorini: Wine Tasting and Touring
Santorini has become a popular wine destination, one of Greece’s top spots for wine production. Its high-quality comes from a combination of the grapes grown in rich volcanic soil to the unique winemaking methods. Today your private driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel for wine tasting and touring. You’ll visit two wineries, touring the facilities and learning more about the island’s wine production, as well as enjoying delicious tastings. Afterward, your driver will return you to your accommodation where you’ll have the evening to enjoy at your leisure. We suggest finding an enticing eatery for dining with a view.
Day 9 Santorini: Afternoon Catamaran Cruise
Enjoy a leisurely morning, perhaps sleeping in and lingering over breakfast. You’ll have until this afternoon to do as you wish before joining your catamaran cruise. If you want to enjoy views while getting active, take the trek between Fira and Oia following the edge of the caldera cliffs. Your private driver will bring you to the port this afternoon where you’ll board a catamaran, cruising around the caldera. Along with way, you’ll have time to swim and visit some beautiful beaches. Your adventure concludes with an especially grand finale, watching the island’s famously colourful sunset from the water.
Day 10 Mykonos: Ferry from Santorini
Savour your last moments on Santorini and then check out of your accommodation, taking private transfer to the port to catch the ferry to Mykonos. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by another private driver for transfer to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to relax with the gorgeous view, or if you want to explore, the island is famous for its spectacular beaches as well as its high-end shopping, fine dining (often featuring farm-to-table dishes) and buzzing nightlife. There are spots where you might rub elbows with celebrities as well as intimate places for sunset cocktails and dinner with a view.
Day 11 Mykonos: Private Tour of Delos
Your guide will meet you this morning to bring you on a private tour of Delos, an uninhabited island just off the coast of Mykonos. This sacred island was once one of the Mediterranean’s most important hubs for culture and trade, and today it provides fascinating insight into the daily lives of ancient Greeks. Your expert guide will reveal more about its history and you’ll have time to walk among the ancient ruins, like the Sanctuary of Apollo and Propylaea. Afterward, you can explore the museum which holds many different finds uncovered on the island, including beautiful mosaics and a wide range of artifacts.
Day 12 Mykonos: Day of Leisure
On the final day of your trip, you’ll enjoy it all to yourself, a perfect way to relax and recharge before beginning your journey back home. With the island home to so many beautiful beaches you might want to enjoy visiting them to sunbathe while enjoying the view and a good book or swimming in the enticing sea. Super Paradise Beach is just minutes from Mykonos Town, lined with beach bars and famous for its all-day parties, but it’s also ideal for swimming, with gorgeous emerald waters. Agios Sostis, Agios Ioannis and Panormos are just a few of the other options.
Day 13 Departure
The most difficult day of your trip has arrived, it’s time to depart.
