It’s known for its abundance of green spaces, wealth of museums and a fairytale-like castle. Upon your arrival, your private driver will transfer you to your hotel in the city. After taking time to relax and get settled in, enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. We recommend taking a stroll to preview some of the city’s many offerings. We’ll book a dinner reservation for you this evening in one of the highly recommended restaurants.

Day 2 Ljubljana: Lake Bled Tour

Lake Bled, Slovenia

This morning after breakfast you’ll meet your private driver/guide for a sightseeing tour through the city to discover its many charms that have led many to call it one of Europe’s most impressive undiscovered gems. After exploring you’ll head outside of the city toward Radovljica. Here you’ll join a biking tour, riding through the picturesque scenery while discovering some of the cultural and historical landmarks on your way to the famous city of Bled, best-known for Lake Bled, tucked within the Julian Alps. Soak up the views and sample one of the local sweet treats, Cremeschnitte before making your return.

Day 3 Rovinj: Postojna Tour

Rovinj, Istria, Croatia

While you’ll travel to Rovinj in Croatia to spend your next two nights, you’ll stop to tour Postojna Cave first. It’s one of Europe’s largest show caves, featuring diverse fauna, like an endangered salamander species called the olm, along with stunning formations. You’ll ride a train into the cave’s belly before continuing on to seaside Rovinj on the west coast of the Istrian Peninsula. After checking into your hotel, take a stroll on the waterfront promenade lined with magnificent villas or enjoy a panoramic vista from the bell tower at the hilltop church of St. Euphemia before dining with a sea view.

Day 4 Rovinj: Istrian Day Trip

Rovinj

Look forward to a full day tour of two of Croatia’s most impressive hilltop villages in Istria’s interior, reminiscent of Tuscany. You’ll stop at the walled town of Motovun first, meeting up with a truffle hunter and his dog for a demonstration of the truffle hunt before enjoying lunch in a traditional konoba like Mondo, spotlighted in the Anthony Bourdain’s former series, “No Reservations.” Afterwards, journey to Groznjan, renowned for its music and art, jam-packed with galleries like Fonticus, set within a 16th-century building that’s had many lives, as a court, prison and granary. Today you’ll find recent works, primarily by Croatian artists.

Day 5 Split: Plitvice Lakes National Park

Plitvice Lakes

Your destination for the next two nights is Split, but your private driver will bring you to Plitvice Lakes National Park first to explore its 16 dazzling lakes in shades ranging from turquoise to emerald, countless magnificent waterfalls and an abundance of lush flora and fauna. Afterwards, enjoy lunch at one of Croatia’s top restaurants, creating your own meal based on the fresh catch with a little help from the chef. Continuing to Split from there, you’ll have time to stroll the seaside promenade or wander through the 1,700-year-old Diocletian’s Palace to discover an enticing eatery for enjoying dinner.

Day 6 Split: Private Guided Tour of Split and Trogir + Wine & Food Tasting

Trogir old town

Meet up with your guide this morning for sightseeing tours in Split and nearby Trogir. You’ll marvel at the many historic landmarks in the 4th-century palace, walk the Riva promenade and climb Marjan hill to enjoy a panoramic view over the city, the harbour and the sea beyond. Afterwards, travel to ancient Trogir, founded 2,300 years ago, with some of Central Europe’s most well-preserved Romanesque-Gothic architecture it feels like an open-air museum. After your tours, you’ll visit one of the area’s vineyards to enjoy a wine and food pairing. Enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure in Split.

Day 7 Hvar: Private Guided Sightseeing Tour of Hvar Town

Turquoise sea of Hvar island

A public catamaran will bring you to sunny Hvar Island after breakfast. Check into your hotel and then meet your guide, transferring by car to the medieval Fortica fortress/castle where you can take in a breathtaking view over the harbour, sea and nearby islands. Learn about the castle’s history and then stroll through the pines to reach Hvar Town’s historic center. Your guide will reveal significant landmarks like the Arsenal Theatre and St. Stephen’s Cathedral before a visit to the Benedictine Nin’s museum which showcases their UNESCO-listed agave lace, made with thread collected from agave plants on the island.

Day 8 Hvar: Back Roads Tour

Hvar

Discover the side of Hvar Island most tourists never see by exploring the back roads. You’ll visit Malo Grablje, and abandoned 16th-century villages and Velo Grablje, the lavender growing center. Stop in Vidikovac for a stunning view of the island’s deepest bay before climbing its highest peak for a 360-degree view of Brac, Korcula and Vic islands. You’ll dine on an authentic meal in Vrisnik village for lunch and then continue along the south coast, with views of the wine-growing areas spread across steep hills on your way back to Hvar Town. You’ll have the evening to enjoy on your own.

Day 9 Dubrovnik: Oyster Culinary Experience

Dubrovnik panorama itinerary

This morning you’ll return to Split by public catamaran where you’ll be met by your private driver for transfer to Dubrovnik. Along the way you’ll stop to hop on a boat, meeting your host for a visit to an oyster farm. You’ll get an oyster growing demonstration and then head to a private island for a tasting of these famous oysters, complemented with the local olive oil, rakija and wine. Your host will also prepare a Buzara sauce that gives the dish a distinctive, fresh flavor and aroma reminiscent of the sea. You’ll continue from there to the “Pearl of the Adriatic.”

Virgin Mary Ascension Cathedral in Dubrovnik, Croatia

Waking up in Dubrovnik, you’ll have lots to look forward to. Join your local guide for a walking tour through the medieval walled Old City, learning about its fascinating history while strolling the marble paved streets and visiting multiple historic landmarks. View grapevines that are said to be more than a century-old, admire the Church of St Blaise, Rector’s Palace, Sponza Palace, and Orlando’s Column. You’ll have time on your own afterwards, perhaps a walk atop the ancient walls, to shop for souvenirs, enjoy a bite to eat and ride the cable car to Mount Srd just before dusk for a stunning sunset view.

Day 11 Dubrovnik/Departure
